Assignment: A global financial services organization enlisted WOW! transformations, as part of the consulting team, to design, develop and deliver a one-day executive talent optimization workshop to launch worldwide in 2011.
Acquisition and development of leadership bench strength has become the organizations number one business challenge and requires company leaders to have a more strategic talent management mindset. Organization structure, talent scouting and selection, and onboarding are some of the critical capabilities in which leaders must excel to build leadership bench strength and were the focus of the workshop content.
Strategy Used: The consulting team used a highly collaborative and structured process that reflected instructional design and development best practices, involving key players throughout the process. The planning component was emphasized to ensure that the program was executed on-time and in line with the goals of the assignment. By cultivating commitment from the executive sponsors of the initiative, HR leadership and the work team responsible for project's deployment, the initiative had a better potential for success.
Tactics: WOW! transformations managed the onboarding component of the program and created the conceptual design, training materials, toolkit, and facilitation guide. WOW! also helped develop the training evaluation. In addition, the team conducted "train the trainer" sessions for pilot workshop instructors and revised course materials based on observations and input from the pilot programs.
The Results: This global financial services organization now has a highly experiential workshop, customized for senior executives, to help them identify the right people, for the right job and get them onboard the right way. Employees who participate in this workshop receive a program toolkit with guidelines, templates and examples to support their efforts, leveraging available company knowledge with industry best practices.
